Abstract

The organizations that are using the cloud system for data analytical purposes should employ the proper data governance to sustain the quality, accuracy, security, and regulations of the data. However, the conventional approaches to manual governance prove insufficient when it comes to cloud scale, velocity, and variety. In populating it, AI and machine learning are used in areas such as data discovery, data categorization, that of metadata, rights management, data provenance, and of course constant monitoring and auditing. This paper covers the following areas of the framework and cloud analytics; how the proposed framework is integrated to the current cloud analytics platforms, the key considerations towards the implementation of the framework. The potential benefits derived from the proposed framework, potential uses cases of the proposed framework, the challenges, ethical considerations together with the overarching research areas of the proposed framework in future research work.
